Bring-a-Buddy Program
Camp is a special experience that usually can’t be described in words. You may often find yourself telling others, “You just had to be there.” So why not share it with an important person in your life? The Bring-a-Buddy program gives friends, siblings and other relatives the chance to attend camp sessions with a Wawbeek or Respite Camper. Buddies are individuals of all abilities who want to experience all of the fun activities and traditions of camp side-by-side with the camper.
There’s more to it than that, though. They have the opportunity to make new friends while also learning about different types of disabilities. They’ll discover new ways to approach situations and gain a better understanding of everyone’s abilities. Your friends can finally experience everything you’ve been telling them about! Buddies are able to attend Respite Camp weekends, weeklong sessions and Wawbeek Youth and Teen sessions. This program is available for campers and their buddies ages 7-14.
