Transition Team Program
While they’re participating in typical camp activities, Transition Team campers will also have the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the many changes taking place in their lives at this age. Whether they’re starting college or a new job or planning to live on their own for the first time, Transition Team campers will be able to talk with friends about the excitement surrounding this new phase in their lives as well as some of the challenges and concerns these changes might be presenting.
Campers will spend two days and one night away from camp gaining hands-on experience in applying for college, advocating for workplace modifications and finding accessible living spaces and transportation. This is an ideal opportunity for campers to share stories, get advice and learn how to advocate for the things they’ll need as they gain independence. Of course, there will be plenty of time for fun, too!
