We will be packing a weekend with as many things as we would do in a week, but with a winter twist! Baking cookies, sledding (if there is snow, of course), and crafts for the winter are sure to be on the agenda for the weekend. This weekend is planned to not only be fun for everyone who attends, but offer some respite for families right before the hectic holiday season to be sure to be ready, or just relax before the push of the holidays.
Our Transition Programs offer a chance for participants to express themselves in ways they may not feel open to in other environments: in ways that are non-judgmental and where all of the participants are made to feel they have something to offer. We hold discussions about self image and goal setting, along with planning meals (while learning about nutrition), shopping for supplies (while learning about money management), and having a great time spending time in a supportive environment with other young adults getting ready to be on their own, or who just want to be a bit more independent.
These sessions are all about being outside, connecting with friends both new and old and experiencing all camp has to offer. Campers live in small groups, according to age, which encourage socialization and growth. In the outdoors, campers will have the chance to learn about their surroundings and themselves while enjoying a healthy lifestyle. Each camper’s abilities shine with the opportunity to try new things or enjoy favorite activities.
