Respite Camp StaffWith over 30 years of experience providing camping experiences to those with disabilities, Easter Seals Wisconsin knows what works for campers, parents and caregivers. When you ask a camper about our counselors, you find out that they are far more than caregivers. They are role models, cheerleaders and friends. Camp staff are dedicated and have the comprehensive training it takes to provide just the right amount of leadership and guidance. And they know how to make the camp experience tons of fun! Everyone at camp – including office, cooks, grounds and support staff – is trained to safely assist campers with disabilities. Parents and caregivers can rest easy knowing that their loved one is surrounded by a professional, dedicated and caring staff. Staff-to-camper ratios are provided within the description of each camp session. We invite you to call us with any questions you have about Easter Seals camp staff. Professional and Medical StaffOur lead staff has over 52 years of combined professional experience in camping and recreational services for people with disabilities. All have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in their field. Each attends a minimum of 15 hours of professional training each year. They supervise and provide leadership to seasonal staff, AmeriCorps members and volunteers who complete the team needed to provide the best experience for each camper. The Camp Coordinator is a certified therapeutic recreation specialists (CTRS) and an EMT. Read profiles of our lead staff. We know that many campers come to us with special medical needs, so their well being is one of our highest priorities. A registered nurse lives on site to provide 24-hour nursing care. The RN administers medications, runs the nursing station, performs special medical care, is responsible for all first aid, and works closely with the Camp Coordinator on medical and safety issues.
